Lead AV Field Engineer

We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated, collaborative and committed individual to fill our Network Field technician position within our Global Network team based in Singapore

The AV and Network Technician will support the Project Management and Network Engineering team to carry out a best-in-class service in the deployment of networking hardware and AV technology for Global customers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

NETWORK

  •  Installing network hardware, components and cabling
  • Trouble shooting and resolving issues with network cabling, copper and fibre.
  • Inspecting and testing copper and fibre optic lines to ensure they adhere to industry standards.
  • Ability to rack and stack networking hardware within onsite and off-site racks in accordance with requirements.
  • Ability to provide technical support through various means of communication
  • Collaborate easily with network engineers and project managers
  • Assisting network engineers with network design, implementation and problem resolution
  • Be able to cable networking rooms and racks to data centre cabling requirements and standards
  • Create site survey reports on MDF and IDF readiness including power & cooling and rack status.
  • Perform both Pre and Post Wifi surveys using industry standard software and equipment.
  • Meet quality, productivity, turnaround time and other expectations
  • Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably required by the company and within the competency of the post-holder, including assisting on Audio Visual Team deployments when not assigned to Network deployments The job description should not be regarded as restrictive or definitive but as a broad guide to the demands of the position.

AUDIO VISUAL

  • Manage sub-contractors – check the quality of work & track their progress against allocated tasks
  • Liaise with the client and provide updates
  • Install and de-install AV systems across client sites in a commercial setting
  • Configure endpoints and supporting infrastructure
  • Conduct room audits to ensure optimal technology performance for various sizes of meeting room
  • Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment and spaces ready for use
  • Identify and resolve hardware faults and system failures
  • Complete post-installation assessments and documentation
  • Carry out on-site User Acceptance Testing and software upgrades
  • Act as a technical escalation point, providing solutions for ongoing issues
  • Collaborate with EOS teams to deliver AV services in line with SLAs and client expectations
  • Communicate project updates and reports to management
  • Document hardware failures and manage Break/Fix and RMA requests

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Good experience of networking hardware – routers, servers, switches, PDU’s, copper and fibre optic cabling.
  • Ability to terminate Straight through & Rollover RJ45 copper cables
  • Hands on experience with major manufactures of routers, switches and wireless.
  • Proven experience in AV/Video Conferencing system installation
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read technical network diagrams, schematics and port maps
  • Ability to interpret rack build layouts and bills of materials
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and a desire to build skills in this area
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to diagnose basic technical problems and find the root cause.
  • Ability to work in fast paced dynamic environment
  • Previous years’ experience in Network Engineering Deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment.
  • Must be available to work outside of normal business hours

GREAT TO HAVE:

CTS EDUCATION: Preferred: (CNET) CDCTP / CCNA / JNCIA/ CompTIA or equivalent.

N.B* Travel is a key requisite for this position; it accounts for 95% of all deployments undertaken. Most travel will be within India but there will also be some international work.

  • Applicants must be willing to travel regularly, sometimes at short notice
  • You must also hold a valid passport or be in the process of procuring one
  • You must also hold a valid driving licence or be in the process of procuring one EXPERIENCE LEVEL: REQUIRED: 2+ years Network deployment / Data Centre experience
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
