Join MSC Industrial Supply Co. as a Key Accounts Executive in our SoMa, San Francisco office. As a full-time member of our sales team, you'll develop and manage relationships with our most strategic clients, driving revenue growth and customer success across North America's industrial distribution market.
About the Role
As Key Accounts Executive at MSC Industrial Supply Co., you'll be responsible for building lasting partnerships with key accounts and expanding their use of our comprehensive product and service offerings. This role sits at the heart of our sales organization, where your relationship-building skills and industry knowledge directly impact client satisfaction and company growth.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow revenue within an assigned account portfolio, identifying expansion opportunities and cross-selling our complete range of metalworking and MRO solutions
- Serve as the primary contact and trusted advisor for key accounts, understanding their business challenges and matching solutions from our catalog of over 2 million products
- Collaborate with internal teams—including operations, service, and technical support—to ensure exceptional customer experiences and successful project execution
- Develop strategic account plans that align with customer objectives and MSC's growth initiatives
- Track account performance, forecast revenue, and report on key metrics and pipeline activity
- Attend industry events and trade shows to strengthen customer relationships and identify new market opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in key account management or consultative enterprise sales within industrial distribution
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, metalworking, or MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) markets
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build influence at all levels of a customer organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and close deals independently
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a track record of exceeding sales targets
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support key account relationships in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond
