DFW Area Application Consortium is hiring a full-time In-School Suspension Aide for Wheat Middle School in Cleburne Independent School District. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support student discipline and behavioral success in a structured school environment.
About the Role
As an ISS Aide, you will serve as an instructional paraprofessional responsible for supervising and monitoring students assigned to in-school suspension. Working under the direction of the school principal, you will create a safe, orderly setting where suspended students complete assigned work while learning the importance of accountability and appropriate conduct.
What You'll Do
- Supervise students during in-school suspension periods, maintaining a secure and structured environment
- Monitor students while they work on assigned academic tasks and coursework
- Document student behavior, attendance, and progress during suspension assignments
- Enforce school discipline and behavioral policies consistently and fairly
- Communicate with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student conduct and academic progress
- Support students in developing problem-solving and behavioral awareness skills
- Assist with administrative duties related to student records and suspension documentation
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong ability to work effectively with students in disciplinary or challenging situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
- Ability to remain calm and objective in conflict situations
- Willingness to follow and enforce school policies and procedures
About This Position
This is a full-time, nonexempt position with a 187-day work year (standard school calendar). You will report directly to the school principal and be classified at the Para 1 pay grade level.
