About the Role
As an Inventory Control Clerk at NMSU, you'll maintain accurate records of institutional assets and materials, ensuring efficient resource management across campus operations. This is a hands-on position that combines systems work with physical inventory oversight in a dynamic university setting.
What You'll Do
- Track and monitor inventory levels using property management systems and databases
- Perform regular physical counts and reconcile records to maintain accuracy
- Process requisitions, transfers, and asset disposals
- Coordinate with departments and campus units to fulfill inventory requests
- Conduct quality checks and identify discrepancies
- Organize and maintain storage areas for efficient material management
- Generate reports on inventory status and usage trends
- Support audits and comply with university and state asset management policies
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or related field
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and databases
- Strong organizational and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and willingness to perform physical tasks
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation
