International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert

CDM Smith seeks an experienced International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Warren, Macomb County. This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead forensic investigations into per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances contamination, providing critical expertise that protects human health and environmental integrity across multiple jurisdictions and industries.

About the Role

As an International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert, you'll be a trusted technical leader bringing deep knowledge of PFAS contamination pathways, forensic analysis methodologies, and remediation strategies. Your expertise will guide complex investigations, inform regulatory strategies, and support clients navigating the evolving landscape of PFAS contamination and compliance requirements globally.

What You'll Do

• Lead forensic investigations to identify PFAS sources, pathways, and extent of contamination in groundwater, surface water, and soil
• Analyze chemical composition and fingerprinting data to determine contamination origins and distinguish legacy from ongoing sources
• Develop and recommend comprehensive remediation and monitoring strategies aligned with international environmental standards
• Provide expert technical guidance to clients across manufacturing, defense, aviation, municipal, and other industries affected by PFAS
• Support regulatory compliance efforts and represent client interests before environmental agencies
• Mentor junior staff and build the firm's forensic investigation capabilities
• Stay current with evolving PFAS regulations, scientific findings, and international best practices

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in environmental science, chemistry, hydrogeology, or related field, with substantial professional experience in PFAS investigation or environmental forensics
• Deep expertise in PFAS analytical methods, contamination fate and transport, and forensic source identification techniques
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-site investigations and developing defensible remedial action plans
• Knowledge of PFAS regulations and compliance frameworks in the US and internationally
• Strong project management, communication, and client-facing skills
• Professional registrations (PE, PG, or similar) a plus
