Instructor III, Fitness

Basin Recreation Employment Application seeks a dedicated Instructor III, Fitness professional for our Kimball Junction facility in Summit County. This is a part-time position offering up to 29 hours per week, ideal for someone passionate about empowering community members to achieve their fitness goals through expert instruction and mentorship.

About the Role

As an Instructor III, Fitness, you'll lead fitness classes and provide one-on-one coaching at our Fieldhouse, serving as a trusted resource for proper exercise technique and sustainable wellness practices. This is a key position within our Recreation Department, combining hands-on instruction with facility stewardship to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all patrons.

What You'll Do

• Teach fitness classes with clear instruction on proper form, alignment, and exercise modification for diverse fitness levels
• Educate patrons on safe technique and best practices to maximize results and prevent injury
• Maintain the Fieldhouse class areas, including setup, sanitation, and organization of equipment
• Manage storage closets and maintain inventory of fitness equipment and supplies
• Adapt instruction to meet individual patron needs and fitness goals
• Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and retention

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated expertise in fitness instruction with strong knowledge of exercise science and proper form
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and motivate diverse audiences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Recreation team
• Physical capability to demonstrate exercises and support patrons during classes
• Attention to detail in facility maintenance and equipment organization
