HVAC Principal Design Engineer

About the Role

As HVAC Principal Design Engineer, you'll assume a leadership position overseeing the design, development, and technical execution of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for our EPC initiative in Greenville, SC. This is a full-time role where your technical expertise and project management capabilities will directly shape the success of complex HVAC installations and ensure systems meet project specifications, timelines, and performance standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead HVAC systems design from concept through execution, applying deep technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
• Direct engineering teams through the design phase, overseeing calculations, modeling, and system optimization
• Provide technical leadership and administrative oversight to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to align HVAC designs with project timelines and budget constraints
• Review and approve design deliverables, technical documentation, and system specifications
• Manage vendor communications and equipment selection for HVAC components and controls
• Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements for HVAC systems in Greenville

What We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent credentials in HVAC or Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience designing and overseeing HVAC systems for industrial, commercial, or EPC projects
• Proven track record in a principal or senior leadership capacity on large-scale engineering projects
• Proficiency with HVAC design software and CAD tools
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and building science
• Excellent communication and project management abilities
• Based in or willing to work on-site in Greenville, SC for the duration of the project
