HSSE Technician

Vallourec North America is hiring a full-time HSSE Technician at our Youngstown, Mahoning County manufacturing facility. In this hands-on role, you'll serve as a key advocate for workplace health, safety, security, and environmental stewardship across our operations.

What This Role Involves

As our HSSE Technician in Youngstown, you'll be the on-site leader for our integrated health, safety, security, and environmental programs. Working directly with plant management and our corporate HSSE team, you'll monitor daily operations to prevent incidents, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed a culture of continuous safety improvement across the facility. Your efforts will directly protect our workforce and maintain the environmental standards our operations demand.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety inspections, hazard assessments, and environmental audits across the production facility
• Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
• Support HSSE training initiatives and keep employee safety records current and compliant
• Verify compliance with Vallourec policies, ISO standards, federal OSHA regulations, and state/local environmental requirements
• Monitor and maintain safety equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, and emergency response systems
• Track metrics, maintain documentation, and prepare reports for internal and regulatory review
• Collaborate with operations teams to identify and eliminate workplace hazards before incidents occur

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or technical certification preferred
• 1–3 years of HSSE, safety, or industrial operations experience
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance standards, and workplace safety practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across all levels
• Physical ability to move around the facility, climb stairs, and work in manufacturing environments
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally within the region
