About the Role

As a Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in & Projektmanager*in at FIR e. V. an der RWTH Aachen, you will operate at the meeting point of applied research and industrial practice. You will help companies strengthen their competitiveness by shaping transformation strategies that move them toward digital, sustainable, and future-ready operations — all while developing your own dissertation within a supported doctoral program.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire, lead, and deliver consulting engagements for industry clients
• Contribute to and direct application-oriented research projects across national and international consortia
• Devise fresh consulting methods and pinpoint forward-looking research topics
• Plan and run conferences and professional development formats for specialists and executives
• Supervise and mentor student assistants

Qualifications

• A completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in industrial engineering, computer science, logistics, or a comparable technical field
• Strong digital affinity combined with a clear strategic mindset
• High self-motivation, initiative, and genuine enthusiasm for your subject areas
• Resilience and excellent self-organization
• Outstanding teamwork and communication skills
• Native-level German and very good command of English
