HR Coordinator

Join Black Diamond Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc as an HR Coordinator in Holiday Hills, McHenry County. We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to strengthen our human resources operations and support our growing team across day-to-day HR management and compliance.

About the Role

As HR Coordinator for Black Diamond Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc, you'll partner directly with our HR Manager to run efficient, compliant human resources functions. This is a hands-on position supporting recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, and regulatory adherence across our organization.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and new-hire onboarding
• Maintain accurate employee files, personnel records, and HR documentation in full compliance with federal and state regulations
• Support benefits administration, enrollment processes, and employee inquiries regarding health insurance, retirement plans, and other programs
• Assist with payroll coordination, timekeeping verification, and wage-and-hour compliance
• Help develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and employee handbooks
• Prepare HR reports, analytics, and documentation for management review
• Respond to employee questions and resolve routine HR issues
• Support company events, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in HR coordination, HR administration, or a similar human resources role
• Strong knowledge of employment law, EEOC compliance, and HR best practices
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
• Proficiency with HR management systems, Microsoft Office, and HRIS platforms
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field preferred
• Willingness to support occasional after-hours and Saturday work as needed

Work Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time position. Regular work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional evening and Saturday availability as business needs require. Compensation is $25–$26 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
