Interview prep

Fit summary

Strong fit if you enjoy structured HR operations supporting consultants in a high-intensity advisory firm. Thin public role-level data; success hinges on service reliability, systems fluency, and calm handling of people-ops requests—not inventing strategy from limited postings.

Day in the role

As an HR Business Services Specialist (contract) at AlixPartners, a typical day centers on operational HR support for a consulting workforce: handling service tickets, employee data and lifecycle transactions, policy and benefits queries, and coordination with HRBPs and centers of excellence so billable teams stay productive. Work is process-heavy, deadline-driven, and client-service oriented rather than pure strategic HR.

Skills to emphasize

Prioritize HRIS accuracy, shared-services case handling, employment lifecycle admin, and clear stakeholder communication in a professional-services setting. No certification resources were provided for this listing.
