About the Role
The Therapeutic Learning Program Teacher delivers targeted instruction and behavioral supports across multiple classroom environments, helping students develop academic skills alongside emotional regulation and social competencies. You'll work with a dedicated team focused on transforming how students engage with learning and build confidence in their abilities.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student's educational plan and therapeutic goals
- Create a predictable, safe classroom environment where students can take academic risks and practice new skills
- Implement evidence-based behavioral intervention strategies responsive to student needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to ensure measurable growth in academics and social-emotional competencies
- Collaborate with special education specialists, counselors, and families to ensure consistent support across settings
- Maintain detailed documentation of student achievement and behavior patterns to inform ongoing program refinement
- Model and teach coping strategies, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy skills
What We're Looking For
- State-certified special education teacher or equivalent teaching license
- Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related field
- Proven experience teaching adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and therapeutic approaches in education
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Patience, flexibility, and genuine commitment to student success and wellbeing
