Nutley Board of Education is hiring a dedicated High School Spring Musical Choreography Assistant to help bring movement and storytelling to life at Nutley High School in the United States. About the Role
As the Choreography Assistant for the High School Spring Musical, you will partner closely with the Spring Musical Director to shape every movement-related element of the show. Working on-site at Nutley High School, you will report to the Superintendent, Principal, and/or the Supervisor of Fine & Performing Arts while helping students develop confidence and skill on stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Spring Musical Director to plan and refine all choreography for the production.
- Assist in teaching dance routines and staging to student performers during rehearsals.
- Support the Director in coordinating movement that aligns with the show's overall vision.
- Help create a positive, encouraging rehearsal environment for young performers.
- Carry out additional choreography-related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Background or demonstrated experience in dance, choreography, or musical theater.
- Ability to instruct and motivate high school students of varying skill levels.
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside the Spring Musical Director and arts staff.
- Reliability and availability to attend rehearsals on-site at Nutley High School.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, student-centered creative process.
