About the Role
This full‑time role supports the execution of highway, heavy civil, and building projects across the Peoria area. You will join a crew that values safety, precision, and teamwork while helping to deliver essential infrastructure for the community.
What You'll Do
- Operate a range of heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders, to move earth, place materials, and shape site contours.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance to ensure machines run safely and efficiently.
- Follow project plans, grade stakes, and supervisor directions to achieve required elevations and alignments.
- Assist with site preparation, trenching, backfilling, and material handling as needed.
- Adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols, reporting hazards or incidents promptly.
- Communicate effectively with foremen, fellow operators, and laborers to coordinate workflow and maintain schedule.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment on construction sites, preferably in highway, heavy civil, or building work.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; any required equipment certifications or endorsements are a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grade plans, and work orders.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing preventive maintenance.
- Commitment to safety, punctuality, and reliable attendance.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle manual tasks when required.
- Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude toward team‑based environments.
