About the Role
As a Medication Aide Healthcare Assistant, you'll provide essential healthcare support in a correctional healthcare environment. This position offers a stable, full-time schedule with 12-hour day shifts running from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on a rotating basis, including every other weekend rotation. Sign-on and retention bonuses are available, and the position offers pay up to $20 per hour.
What You'll Do
- Assist licensed healthcare providers with medication administration and patient care protocols
- Support nursing staff in monitoring and documenting patient health status
- Help maintain secure medication storage and supply inventory
- Respond to patient requests and health concerns in a professional, compassionate manner
- Follow strict safety and compliance procedures required in healthcare and correctional settings
- Participate in healthcare team meetings and ongoing training opportunities
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends in a 12-hour shift format
- Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
- Prior healthcare or correctional experience is helpful but not required
- Medication Aide certification is not required—we provide support and guidance for candidates pursuing certification
