Health & Safety Program Manager (Southern CA)

American Water Works Service Company, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Program Manager to lead workplace safety initiatives across its Southern California operations from its Rosemead office in Los Angeles County.

About the Role

As the Health & Safety Program Manager, you will champion a culture of safety and regulatory excellence throughout American Water's Southern California facilities. Based in Rosemead, this full-time, on-site position places you at the center of protecting the people who keep essential water services running every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs across Southern California work sites.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state of California, and local occupational health and safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations, recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training to build employee awareness and engagement at every level.
• Track safety metrics, prepare reports, and partner with operational leaders to drive measurable results.
• Lead emergency preparedness planning and promote proactive hazard identification.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing occupational health and safety programs, ideally in utilities, industrial, or field-based environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and related environmental health and safety standards.
• Strong analytical, communication, and program-management skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
• Relevant safety certifications and a bachelor's degree in a related field are advantageous.
• Willingness to work on-site in Rosemead and travel to facilities across Southern California as needed.
