Bauer Built is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic for a full-time position throughout the United States (nationwide). Starting at $21–$28 per hour based on your experience, this role offers an opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise while working with a company that has built its reputation on integrity and quality service over eight decades.

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Bauer Built, you'll be at the core of our operation—diagnosing and repairing commercial and heavy-duty equipment while maintaining the highest standards that have defined our service for generations. This is hands-on work where your expertise directly impacts our customers' success and our company's reputation for reliability.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty trucks, equipment, and other commercial vehicles
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service to keep equipment running safely and efficiently
• Replace worn or damaged components including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems
• Troubleshoot complex problems using diagnostic tools and your mechanical knowledge
• Maintain organized workspaces and document all service performed for customer records
• Collaborate with team members and management to meet service deadlines and customer expectations
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or in a related mechanical trade
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Physical ability to lift heavy components, work in various positions, and perform demanding tasks
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
