Guitar – Private After-School Lessons Program

Atlanta International School is seeking an experienced Guitar instructor for our private after-school lessons program. This part-time position offers the opportunity to provide one-on-one guitar instruction to students in our PreK through grade 12 learning community in Atlanta, Fulton County.

About the Role

As a Guitar instructor in our private after-school lessons program, you'll deliver personalized musical instruction to students at varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. This position supports our school's commitment to developing well-rounded, critically-thinking students through music education and performance.

What You'll Do

• Conduct private, one-on-one guitar lessons tailored to each student's learning style, goals, and current ability
• Assess student progress and develop individualized lesson plans to build technique, theory knowledge, and musicality
• Foster student confidence and engagement through structured practice routines and performance opportunities
• Maintain clear communication with students and families regarding progress, practice recommendations, and musical development
• Coordinate with our music department to align instruction with school music programs and curriculum goals
• Support student preparation for recitals, performances, and music assessments as needed

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated proficiency on guitar with strong technical ability across multiple genres or styles
• Prior experience teaching guitar or private music instruction to students of mixed ages and levels
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patience and enthusiasm for music education
• Ability to create structured, engaging lessons that accommodate diverse learning needs
• Commitment to fostering a love of music and supporting student growth as both musicians and learners
