Group Sales Manager

About the Role

As a Group Sales Manager with Marriott, you will lead efforts to attract and secure group bookings, including meetings, conferences, social events, and corporate gatherings. Based on-site in Newburgh Heights, Cuyahoga County, you will play a central part in meeting revenue targets while delivering the standout guest experience Marriott is known for. This is a management-level position within the Sales & Marketing function.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and close new group sales opportunities across corporate, association, and social market segments
• Develop and nurture long-term client relationships to generate repeat and referral business
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and coordinate event details with internal teams
• Collaborate with operations, catering, and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless event delivery
• Track sales performance against goals and contribute to forecasting and revenue strategy
• Represent the property professionally at site visits, industry events, and client meetings

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hotel, hospitality, or group sales, ideally in a management capacity
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Goal-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Availability to work full-time, on-site in Newburgh Heights, Cuyahoga County (this role is not remote)
