Graduate Program Specialist

University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a Full Time Graduate Program Specialist in Lincoln, Lancaster County to provide essential support for graduate program operations and student success. This position plays a key role in advancing our graduate education mission through administrative excellence and exceptional service.

About the Role

As Graduate Program Specialist, you'll serve as a central resource for graduate program administration and student support at UNL. Your work ensures smooth operations across program processes, from initial inquiries through degree completion, while fostering a welcoming environment for graduate students and faculty collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive support to graduate students regarding program requirements, academic policies, and university resources
• Assist with graduate program administration, including coordination of coursework, milestone tracking, and degree progress monitoring
• Respond to student and prospective applicant inquiries via email, phone, and in-person meetings with professionalism and accuracy
• Support graduate recruitment and admissions initiatives through program outreach and candidate communication
• Maintain program records, databases, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with institutional standards
• Collaborate with graduate faculty, department leadership, and other university offices to align program operations with academic goals
• Leverage electronic communication platforms and tools to facilitate program updates, announcements, and student engagement

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• Four years of related experience in an academic institution or similar professional environment
• Demonstrated strength in customer service and direct interaction with students and colleagues
• Experience supporting graduate programs in an academic setting (preferred)
• Proficiency with email, document management systems, and other electronic communication tools
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail
