About the Role
As a Graduate Nurse Extern in our Burn Unit, you'll work alongside registered nurses providing direct patient care in a specialty environment. This role bridges your nursing education with real-world clinical practice, exposing you to evidence-based nursing care and the opportunity to develop competencies in a specialized clinical setting.
What You'll Do
- Deliver bedside patient care under the direct supervision of licensed registered nurses
- Assist with activities of daily living, hygiene, comfort measures, and patient monitoring
- Observe and learn evidence-based nursing assessment and intervention techniques
- Document patient observations and assist with nursing care coordination
- Support the nursing team in maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment
- Contribute to patient education and family communication initiatives
Note: This position does not include medication administration, IV placement, or blood product handling.
What We're Looking For
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited nursing program
- Valid state authorization to practice as a graduate nurse extern
- Compassion, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Clear communication skills and attention to detail
