Position Summary
This full-time Forklift Operator role based in Houston, Texas centers on the safe and productive use of forklifts to support daily material flow. You will help maintain organized storage, accurate loads, and smooth transitions between receiving, staging, and shipping areas while prioritizing workplace safety and clear communication with co-workers.
What You'll Do
- Operate forklifts and similar powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and stage materials throughout the facility
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with precision to protect product integrity
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks and promptly report maintenance needs
- Follow established layout plans to store items correctly and keep aisles clear
- Support inventory accuracy by placing materials in designated locations and notifying others of discrepancies
- Comply with all site safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, and traffic patterns
- Assist teammates with related warehouse tasks when material-handling volume allows
Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial environment
- Current forklift certification preferred or willingness to complete required certification training
- Solid working knowledge of safe material-handling and industrial truck practices
- Physical capability to stand, walk, climb, and regularly lift packages as part of normal duties
- Attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills for counting and verifying load quantities
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
