Food Service Director

National Health Care Associates is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to lead culinary operations at our Bristol, Hartford County facility. In this full-time leadership role, you'll combine professional kitchen management with a genuine commitment to nourishing and caring for the residents and families we serve.

About the Role

As Food Service Director, you'll oversee all aspects of food service operations in our senior living community. You'll design nutritious, appealing menus, manage kitchen staff and budgets, and ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards. Working closely with nursing and clinical teams, you'll address individual dietary needs and create dining experiences that contribute meaningfully to resident health and satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Develop monthly menus balancing resident preferences, therapeutic diets, and nutritional guidelines
• Supervise food service team members, providing training and fostering accountability
• Maintain compliance with health department regulations and food safety protocols
• Manage departmental budgets, control food costs, and negotiate vendor agreements
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and respond to resident feedback
• Coordinate with clinical staff to accommodate medical and dietary restrictions
• Oversee kitchen sanitation, equipment maintenance, and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience as a Food Service Director or similar leadership position in healthcare foodservice
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain it
• Strong foundation in nutrition, food safety, and healthcare dining standards
• Proven supervisory and communication abilities
• Budget management experience and attention to detail
• Genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors
