Food Packer

Citarella is hiring a full-time Food Packer for our Longwood location in the Bronx. This is your opportunity to join a family-owned gourmet market dedicated to sourcing and preparing the finest quality foods for our customers across New York City and beyond.

About the Role

As a Food Packer at Citarella, you'll play a key role in our operations by preparing, packaging, and labeling a wide variety of premium products that reflect our commitment to excellence. Working in a fast-paced, food-focused environment, you'll ensure every item meets our high standards before it reaches our customers.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and package fresh seafood, meats, prepared foods, and specialty items according to company specifications
• Apply labels and pricing information accurately to all packaged products
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in the packing area at all times
• Operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently
• Monitor product quality and report any issues to supervisors
• Organize and rotate inventory using FIFO (first in, first out) methods
• Keep your work area clean and organized throughout your shift
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a food packer or in food preparation (preferred but not required)
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented approach to work
• Willingness to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities
• Valid ID and eligibility to work in the United States
