About the Role
As a Fire Suppression Systems Inspector you will travel within your assigned territory to perform routine and demand‑based inspections of fire suppression equipment. The role offers a competitive salary range of $74,000 to $104,000 per year and requires a current state license for fire alarm and automatic sprinkler inspection.
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough inspections and functional tests of fire alarm, automatic sprinkler, and clean‑agent systems according to NFPA and local code requirements.
- Verify proper operation of control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, and suppression agents.
- Document findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions in detailed inspection reports.
- Communicate results to facility managers, contractors, or property owners and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Maintain inspection tools, calibration equipment, and service vehicles in safe working condition.
- Stay current with evolving fire protection standards through continued education and manufacturer training.
What We're Looking For
- Valid state‑issued fire alarm and automatic sprinkler inspector license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Proven experience inspecting and testing fire suppression systems in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 72, NFPA 2001, and applicable local fire codes.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic calculations, schematics, and architectural drawings.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail when identifying system impairments.
- Effective communication abilities for clear reporting and client interaction.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record for travel across the service territory.
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and timely completion of assigned work orders.
