About the Role
We're seeking an experienced safety professional to serve as the Field Safety Manager - Traveling for our Minneapolis-area operations. In this role, you'll travel to multiple active construction sites, implementing and overseeing comprehensive safety programs that protect our workforce and maintain strict compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will foster a culture of safety excellence across all operations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits at active job sites
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety protocols and procedures
- Ensure all operations meet OSHA requirements and applicable safety regulations
- Provide safety training and toolbox talks to construction crews
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and corrective actions
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation and compliance records
- Collaborate with project managers on safety planning and execution
- Identify hazards and implement preventative measures to reduce workplace risk
- Travel regularly to project sites throughout our service areas
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in construction safety management or field safety supervision
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices
- Excellent communication and training abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly
- Experience in heavy construction, underground utility work, excavation, or tunneling preferred
