Join W.W.Williams Company as a Field Service Diesel Technician in Cranston, Rhode Island. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver expert maintenance and repair services across our diesel equipment fleet while building strong customer relationships in a hands-on, field-based role.
About the Role
As a Field Service Diesel Technician, you'll be the trusted expert our customers rely on to keep their diesel equipment running smoothly. Whether responding to emergency breakdowns or executing planned preventive maintenance, you'll diagnose issues efficiently, complete repairs to exacting standards, and recommend solutions that extend equipment life and optimize customer operations.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine and equipment problems at customer locations
- Perform routine maintenance services including fluid changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Execute emergency repairs to minimize customer downtime and service disruptions
- Recommend preventive maintenance and repair solutions tailored to each customer's needs
- Document all service work, parts used, and labor time in company systems
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to coordinate jobs and share expertise
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety protocols on job sites
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a diesel technician or heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with diesel engines and systems
- Ability to work independently in the field while communicating clearly with customers and management
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Professional attitude and commitment to delivering quality service every time
- Physical capability to work in varied weather conditions and handle equipment weight
- Willingness to respond to emergency service calls as needed
