USA The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Director of Employee Relations to lead its global approach to workplace culture, placing people at the core of how the organization operates, builds trust, and lives out its values. Based in the United States, this senior people leadership role reports to the Managing Director of Global Culture & Engagement.
About the Role
As Director of Employee Relations at USA The Nature Conservancy, you will serve as a strategic, organization-wide leader and a core member of the Global Culture & Engagement (GC&E) leadership team. Acting as the connective bridge between the Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Human Resources functions, you will champion an equitable, inclusive, and supportive workplace while guiding TNC's global culture strategy through human-centered methods that build resilient relationships and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to strengthen positive employee relations across TNC's global operations.
- Partner with senior stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team, to design and deliver short- and long-term strategies that advance performance, accountability, and engagement.
- Address complex relationship challenges and conduct employee relations interviews across all global time zones.
- Build organizational capacity and cultivate environments where staff can thrive.
- Deliver workplace culture training and interventions for teams and leaders at every level.
- Travel up to 40 percent, both domestically within the United States and internationally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources.
- Generalist HR background spanning areas such as employment, compensation, benefits, payroll, employee relations, training and development, organizational development, and recruiting.
- Strategic planning experience within a decentralized, geographically dispersed, multicultural international organization.
- Demonstrated supervisory ability, including motivating staff, setting objectives, and leading people functions.
- Proven skills as a trainer, facilitator, and project coordinator.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including report building, data manipulation, and analysis.
- Certification or advanced training in coaching, mediation, or conflict resolution.
- Preferred: SPHR certification, multilingual or cross-cultural experience, knowledge of federal and state compliance requirements, and case management system implementation experience.
