ESTIMATOR Architectural Metal & Glass

AEC National Recruiters is hiring a full-time Estimator specializing in Architectural Metal & Glass in Chelsea and Clinton, Manhattan. Join a team at a leading provider of interior glass partitions and architectural metal and glass solutions, where you'll prepare precise project cost estimates and support innovative commercial and residential designs.

About the Role

This is a hands-on estimating position with a respected architectural metal and glass contractor. You'll work directly with project managers, architects, and clients to develop detailed cost proposals and bid packages for interior glass partitions, architectural metalwork, and specialty glazing systems. Your accuracy and attention to detail directly impact the company's profitability and client satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope and requirements
• Calculate material quantities, labor hours, and associated costs for glass partitions, metal framing, and related systems
• Prepare comprehensive, competitive bid proposals and cost estimates for commercial and residential projects
• Communicate with architects, contractors, and clients to clarify specifications and project details
• Maintain organized estimating records and track bid history for reference and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with operations and project teams to ensure estimate accuracy and feasibility
• Conduct site visits when needed to evaluate project conditions and specifications

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an estimator in architectural glass, metal framing, or related building materials
• Strong proficiency reading and interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications
• Solid math and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency essential)
• Knowledge of construction industry standards, labor rates, and material pricing
• Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple estimates simultaneously
