Watson Building Group is hiring a full-time Estimator in Orlando, Florida to support cost estimation and project planning for our growing construction portfolio. We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to help guide budgets and bid opportunities across commercial, industrial, and high-rise projects.
About the Role
As an Estimator with Watson Building Group, you'll be instrumental in translating project requirements into accurate cost projections that drive business development and project execution. Your precision and organizational skills will directly support our ability to win competitive bids and deliver projects on budget in a fast-paced construction environment.
What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial, industrial, high-rise, and hotel construction projects from plans and specifications
- Analyze project scope, site conditions, and constructability to identify cost drivers and potential risks
- Research and compile current pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Organize estimate documentation and maintain accurate project cost records for future reference
- Support bid preparation and coordinate with project managers to refine preliminary estimates
- Collaborate with field teams and subcontractors to track actual costs and update project budgets
- Use estimating software and tools to create clear, well-organized cost summaries and reports
What We're Looking For
- Construction or commercial estimating experience
- Proficiency with cost estimation and construction documentation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor standards
- Comfort with estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management systems
