Delart
About the job
Delart is home to a team of world-class engineers and project leaders dedicated to developing the next generation of advanced networking technologies, consumer devices, and innovative technology solutions. Trusted by some of the world’s leading technology companies, we deliver highly scalable, mission-critical solutions that power both consumer and business applications globally. Since our founding in 2017, we have been at the forefront of designing cutting-edge networking, telecommunications, and consumer products, while driving end-to-end project execution and creating transformative technology applications.
Overview
As an EMC Design Engineer focused on Wearable Technology, you will drive the electromagnetic compatibility of next-generation consumer products by developing and validating design solutions from prototype to high-volume production. You will partner closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance, elevate design quality, and solve complex EMC challenges for wearable electronics.
Responsibilities
- Lead grounding and shielding architecture for wearable systems, aligning product constraints with international EMC compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain EMC and ESD design specifications, guidelines, and risk management strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Integrate and optimize diverse components—such as sensors, wireless charging modules, and advanced PCBs—within the system architecture to meet electromagnetic performance requirements.
- Design and analyze ESD protection strategies, including component selection and circuit implementation for consumer electronics.
- Conduct, document, and troubleshoot system-level ESD and EMC testing per IEC 61000-4-2 and related international standards.
- Define and execute comprehensive EMC validation plans, employ simulation methodologies, and correlate simulation outcomes with laboratory measurements.
- Analyze field and laboratory data to identify root causes of EMC/ESD issues; drive corrective actions to closure through design modification and process improvements.
- Manage and prioritize multiple engineering projects, collaborating with internal teams, technicians, and external vendors for effective delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years’ hands-on experience in EMC design, including measurement and debugging for electronic devices.
- Expertise in system-level ESD protection and testing; skilled in ESD failure mechanisms and in the use of ESD guns.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electromagnetic theory and application, especially grounding and shielding in consumer electronics.
- Familiarity with design and manufacturing of PCBs and flexible circuits for wearable or mobile devices.
- Demonstrated success participating in full product development lifecycles, from concept and prototyping through mass manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or closely related field.
- Over 10 years of advanced EMC design and testing experience in high-reliability consumer or wearable electronics.
- Proficiency with EM diagnostic and test instruments such as near field scanners, spectrum/network analyzers, and high-bandwidth oscilloscopes.
- Deep understanding of power delivery design, EMI suppression techniques, and RF desensitization in complex architectures.
- Advanced expertise in magnetic shielding methodologies and in managing noise/vibration for optimized system performance.
