Ardsley School District is hiring an Elementary Mathematics Teacher to inspire mathematical thinking and build foundational numeracy skills in elementary students. This full-time position begins August 31, 2026.
About the Role
As an Elementary Mathematics Teacher, you'll work under the direction of the school principal to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that develops student problem-solving abilities and mathematical confidence. This role focuses on creating a learning environment where young students develop a genuine appreciation for mathematics and the thinking skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver comprehensive mathematics lessons that support diverse learning styles and abilities
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions
- Implement differentiated instruction that meets each student's needs in the elementary mathematics classroom
- Build collaborative relationships with families through regular communication about student learning
- Partner with colleagues to strengthen mathematics instruction and share effective teaching practices
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that encourages mathematical reasoning and risk-taking
- Engage in ongoing professional development and curriculum refinement
What We're Looking For
- Valid elementary teaching license or credential
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics content and pedagogy
- Proven ability to connect with and support elementary-age learners
- Experience differentiating instruction for varied learner needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Genuine commitment to equity and inclusive education
