About the Role
We're working with an established electrical contractor serving the Baton Rouge area, and they're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their operations. In this role, you'll take ownership of the estimating function—evaluating project scope, analyzing drawings and specifications, developing accurate bids, and supporting the sales and project delivery process.
What You'll Do
- Review blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to determine labor, materials, and equipment needs
- Prepare detailed, competitive estimates and bids for commercial, industrial, and service electrical work
- Research material costs and supplier pricing to ensure accurate and current quote development
- Collaborate with project managers, sales, and field teams to refine estimates and support project profitability
- Maintain estimation software and document all proposals for tracking and historical reference
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and cost tracking
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an electrical estimator or in electrical construction estimation
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, codes, and labor requirements
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel especially)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and technical documents
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
