Gpac is recruiting an Electrical Estimator for a growing electrical contractor based in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to advance your estimating career with a respected local firm that values precision, technical expertise, and professional development.
About the Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you'll play a critical role in the project lifecycle by preparing accurate cost proposals for electrical construction work. Working directly with clients, project managers, and field teams, you'll translate blueprints and specifications into detailed bids that drive the company's competitiveness and profitability.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects
- Review architectural and electrical drawings to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements
- Research and source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Calculate labor hours, material costs, equipment, and overhead to generate competitive bids
- Manage the bidding process and maintain organized proposal documentation
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to refine estimates and adjust pricing as needed
- Stay current with electrical codes, building standards, and industry cost benchmarks
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a related estimating role
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, NEC codes, and construction standards
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
