MetaOption, LLC is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time position for an experienced engineer ready to design, analyze, and oversee electrical systems in a technically demanding environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll take ownership of complex electrical projects from initial design through final implementation. You'll lead the design of power distribution systems, perform arc flash and electrical safety hazard analyses, and ensure all work meets current electrical codes and standards. This role demands both technical depth and the ability to mentor junior engineers while coordinating across project teams.
What You'll Do
- Design and optimize electrical systems including power distribution networks and high-voltage equipment configurations
- Conduct arc flash studies and electrical safety hazard assessments to protect personnel and assets
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and other applicable electrical design standards
- Specify, select, and integrate high-voltage electrical equipment and components
- Develop technical documentation, engineering drawings, and specifications for projects
- Review and approve electrical designs prepared by junior team members
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and safety personnel to deliver results
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of professional electrical engineering experience
- Expertise in power distribution and electrical system design
- Demonstrated proficiency in arc flash analysis and electrical safety compliance
- Strong knowledge of electrical design codes and industry standards
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical equipment
- Excellent technical communication and leadership skills
