Educator 1 – Life Skills Educator

Future Transitions is hiring a full-time Educator 1 – Life Skills Educator to deliver in-home independent living instruction across the greater Los Angeles County region, supporting individuals as they build everyday skills for greater autonomy.

About the Role

As an Educator 1 – Life Skills Educator with Future Transitions, you will provide one-on-one, in-home instruction through our Independent Living Skills, Adaptive Skills Training, and Parenting programs. This community-based position serves families throughout the Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, East Los Angeles, and Kern County, and is administered out of our Monterey Park, Los Angeles County office. Because services are delivered directly in the homes and communities of those you support, reliable personal transportation is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach practical daily living and independent living skills to clients in their own homes and local communities.
• Deliver adaptive skills training tailored to each individual's goals and abilities.
• Support parenting skill development for families enrolled in the program.
• Travel to assigned service areas and, where required, safely transport clients during instructional sessions.
• Maintain a professional, encouraging environment that promotes learner confidence and progress.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and current auto insurance.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• A clean DMV report covering the previous seven years for educators who transport clients.
• Bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
• A genuine commitment to helping individuals develop life skills and greater independence.
