The Bangor School Department is seeking a dedicated Educational Technician III for the Self Contained/Choices Program at Vine Street School in Bangor, Maine. This full-time, in-person role supports students who benefit from individualized, behavior-focused instruction in a structured classroom setting.
About the Role
As an Educational Technician III with the Bangor School Department, you will work hands-on within the Choices Program in a self-contained classroom at Vine Street School. The position covers a six-hour daily schedule (8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.) and centers on helping students grow academically, socially, and behaviorally through consistent, compassionate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction and daily activities within the Self Contained/Choices Program.
- Carry out individual behavior plans with consistency and care.
- Help implement each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Apply proven behavior-management approaches to encourage positive student outcomes.
- Partner with teachers and program staff to maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Current authorization as an Educational Technician III.
- Working knowledge of behavior-management strategies.
- Ability to put behavior plans and Individualized Education Plans into practice.
- Experience supporting students in an educational or classroom setting.
- Patience, dependability, and a genuine commitment to student success.
