Third Future Schools' Academy of Advanced Learning in Aurora, Arapahoe County is hiring a full-time DYAD Elective Music Consultant to deliver engaging, experiential music instruction. You'll guide students through a specialized electives program designed to deepen creativity, musical expression, and independent learning.
About the Role
In this full-time position based in Aurora, you'll teach music classes within the DYAD Electives framework—an innovative model that emphasizes hands-on exploration and real-world application. You'll plan instruction that meets students where they are, builds their musical confidence, and creates space for artistic growth in a charter school environment committed to student achievement.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver music instruction grounded in experiential learning principles
- Develop curriculum that encourages student creativity, skill-building, and musical independence
- Assess student learning through both formative and summative feedback, adjusting instruction to meet individual needs
- Partner with school leadership and faculty to integrate music into the broader academic community
- Build an inclusive classroom where all students feel welcome to take musical risks and develop as learners
- Contribute to school performances and celebrations that showcase student work
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience teaching music or leading music-centered learning
- Skill in designing student-centered curriculum and creating engaging lessons
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to fostering an equitable, supportive learning community
- Experience with project-based or experiential learning models preferred
- Genuine enthusiasm for developing young people's confidence and connection to music
