Director, Rooms

Coury Hospitality is seeking a Director of Rooms to lead all accommodations operations and guest services at our Chicago, Cook County location. This full-time leadership role drives operational excellence across Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Concierge, and Bell Services, with accountability for guest satisfaction, team performance, and revenue optimization.

About the Role

As Director of Rooms at Coury Hospitality in Chicago, you'll oversee the strategic and day-to-day management of our Rooms Division. Your leadership ensures every guest receives exceptional service from arrival through departure, while your operational oversight maintains efficiency standards, cost controls, and service consistency across all guest-facing departments. You'll manage staffing, training, scheduling, and performance metrics to support both team development and business objectives.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop front-line and supervisory teams across Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, and Bell Services
• Establish and enforce service standards, quality controls, and guest satisfaction benchmarks
• Manage budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses for the Rooms Division
• Oversee front office operations, guest check-in and check-out processes, and reservation management
• Coordinate housekeeping standards, room maintenance, and cleanliness protocols
• Develop and implement training programs to ensure consistent service delivery across departments
• Monitor and respond to guest feedback, resolving issues to maximize satisfaction and loyalty
• Report on key performance indicators, occupancy rates, and departmental metrics

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive experience in hotel operations, rooms management, or hospitality leadership
• Proven track record directing Front Office, Housekeeping, or related guest services operations
• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
• Excellent problem-solving and guest service orientation
• Proficiency with hotel management systems and property management software
• Knowledge of hospitality standards, safety protocols, and compliance requirements
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
