About the Role
In this position you will provide individualized nutrition care to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. Working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff, you will help optimize patient outcomes through evidence‑based dietary interventions.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatient and outpatient populations.
- Develop, implement, and adjust personalized meal plans based on medical conditions, preferences, and cultural considerations.
- Monitor patient progress, document findings in the electronic health record, and communicate updates to the care team.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic diets, nutrition labels, and healthy eating habits.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and hospital food‑service policies.
- Stay current with emerging nutrition research and integrate best practices into daily practice.
What We're Looking For
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as a dietitian in Pennsylvania.
- Experience in clinical nutrition, preferably within a rehabilitation or acute care setting.
- Strong assessment and critical‑thinking skills to tailor nutrition plans to diverse patient needs.
- Effective communication abilities for educating patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
