About the Role

As Department Chair, you'll serve as the chief academic officer for the Physician Assistant program, providing strategic direction, fostering faculty excellence, and ensuring program quality and accreditation standards. Reporting to the Assistant/Associate College Dean, you'll bridge campus leadership, faculty, and students while advancing the mission of South University's healthcare education initiatives in Savannah and across the system.

What You'll Do

• Provide academic and administrative leadership for the Physician Assistant program, including curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement
• Oversee faculty recruitment, development, mentoring, and performance within the discipline
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements for graduate healthcare programs
• Foster a collaborative learning environment that supports student success and professional development
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and strategic planning initiatives
• Collaborate with campus administration and external stakeholders to strengthen program visibility and partnerships
• Support faculty scholarship, research, and community engagement efforts

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies or related healthcare field
• Current PA-C certification and active license
• Proven academic leadership and administrative experience in healthcare education
• Deep knowledge of PA program standards, accreditation, and curriculum development
• Strong faculty management and team-building capabilities
• Excellent communication and strategic planning skills
• Commitment to student-centered learning and program excellence
