Day Camp Counselor

About the Role

As a Day Camp Counselor, you will lead and carry out the planned daily activities for campers throughout the summer season. Based at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Philadelphia, PA, you will report to the After School and Day Camp Manager and the Day Camp Coordinator. This is a seasonal, full-time position running from June 15 to August 7, 2026, with a Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM (40 hours per week). Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the daily program activities as outlined by camp leadership
• Supervise campers and maintain a safe, welcoming environment throughout the day
• Guide and engage children in recreational, educational, and group activities
• Work closely with the Day Camp Coordinator and fellow staff to keep the program running smoothly
• Support the overall mission and values of the day camp experience

• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children in a camp setting
• Reliable availability for the full seasonal schedule, Monday through Friday
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
• A responsible, energetic, and positive approach to supervising youth activities
