Goodman

Always wanted to challenge the obvious and make great things happen? At Goodman we create space for your greatness.

Our organization is a dynamic and innovative real estate company, serving as both a developer and investor with a primary focus on logistics real estate. We are expanding our portfolio to include cutting-edge data centre development projects and are therefore seeking experienced data centre professionals.

Goodman is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our expanding Data Centre project team. The ideal candidate will oversee the entire lifecycle of the construction process, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You’ll manage high-level planning, coordination, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders. This role involves mitigating risks, monitoring progress, and making critical decisions to resolve issues that arise during the build. The Project Manager also liaises with clients and ensures alignment with the overarching business objectives, maintaining a focus on operational readiness and sustainability.

More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Project Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for data center projects.
  • Oversee the entire project life cycle, from tendering to commissioning, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Client Management:

  • Actively engage in negotiations, driving the technical aspects and coordinating discussions with subject matter experts, leading to lease signatures.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from commercialization to project delivery, maintaining a positive and collaborative relationship with clients throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Regularly communicate project updates, milestones, and key decisions to clients, ensuring transparency and alignment of expectations.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans, including final design review, tendering, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.

Risk Management:

  • Establish and implement thorough project controls to ensure early identification of potential issues, providing the greatest chance for effective mitigation.
  • Develop robust risk mitigation strategies, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address challenges promptly.
  • Maintain a keen focus on risk management during the commissioning phase, ensuring all potential challenges are anticipated and addressed in a timely manner.

Contractual Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with obligations of both the general contractor and the lease agreements, understanding their implications for project management.
  • Strategically manage claims and disputes within FIDIC-based contractual relationships, or similar, collaborating with legal teams to achieve fair and timely resolutions, while maintaining a focus on change order management.
  • Effectively oversee change order management, addressing modifications initiated by the end-user and managing responses from general contractors.

Market Experience and Team Building:

  • Demonstrate experience in the French market, having successfully delivered projects as a client or general contractor.
  • Assemble and lead a newly hired project team while integrating existing team members into the project structure.

Do you recognize yourself?

  • 10 years experience in project management, with a focus in data centre projects;
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget;
  • Strong leadership, decision making, and team-building skills;
  • Experience in the Spanish market with a successful project delivery track record;
