Truckee Meadows Community College invites experienced dance professionals to join our Department of Visual and Performing Arts as a part-time faculty member. This position offers the opportunity to teach dance courses and inspire students at a vibrant community college in Nevada.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated dance instructor to develop and deliver part-time dance courses that engage students in technique, creativity, and performance. As a member of our Visual and Performing Arts faculty, you will play a vital role in our students' artistic growth and academic success while maintaining the high educational standards our community expects.
What You'll Do
- Teach dance courses across varying levels and styles within our established curriculum
- Develop course materials, lesson plans, and assignments that align with program learning outcomes
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback on technique and artistic growth
- Mentor students in their dance practice and help them achieve course objectives
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Visual and Performing Arts Department on departmental initiatives and events
- Maintain professional standards in course delivery and student communication
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in dance, choreography, performing arts, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated professional experience in dance performance, training, or instruction
- Strong knowledge of dance technique and ability to teach effectively across skill levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting student learning and success in a community college environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff
