Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (Part-Time)

About the Role

As a part-time Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert at Corner Alliance, you'll leverage your deep security knowledge to guide our consulting engagements with federal clients. This is a flexible, independent contributor role that allows you to apply your expertise on high-impact projects while maintaining other professional commitments. You'll work with our team to shape security strategies, inform technical decisions, and help deliver results for government organizations navigating complex cyber challenges.

What You'll Do

• Provide expert cybersecurity guidance and technical input on consulting projects serving federal and government clients
• Develop and review security strategies, frameworks, and compliance approaches aligned with government requirements
• Contribute subject matter expertise to proposals, technical designs, and risk assessments
• Advise on emerging threats, security best practices, and federal regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with our consulting team to strengthen security posture across client engagements
• Support team development through mentoring and knowledge-sharing on cybersecurity topics

What We're Looking For

• 8–10 years of progressive cybersecurity experience, ideally including government, federal, or defense sector exposure
• Deep technical expertise in cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and/or compliance
• Demonstrated experience in a consulting, advisory, or subject matter expert capacity
• Strong understanding of federal security requirements, compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.), and government operating environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex security concepts for diverse audiences
• Commitment to professional development and staying current with the evolving threat landscape
