About the Role
The County of Weld is hiring a full-time Custodial Lead Worker to support sanitation operations within the county jail. In this Sheriff's Office position, you will direct trusty inmate workers as they carry out daily custodial assignments, ensuring facility spaces are kept clean, orderly, and safe. This is an evening shift role based in Greeley, Weld County, scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate trusty inmate workers performing routine custodial and cleaning tasks throughout the jail.
- Lead day-to-day sanitation efforts to maintain a clean and well-kept detention environment.
- Provide on-the-job guidance, direction, and oversight to assigned workers during each shift.
- Uphold the security, safety, and cleanliness standards expected within a correctional setting.
- Work the established overnight schedule of Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead and supervise others while completing custodial duties in a secure facility.
- Willingness and availability to work the assigned late-evening and overnight hours.
- Successful completion of a background check, polygraph examination, and related pre-employment screenings.
- Comfort working inside a jail environment alongside inmate workers.
