Burson is looking for a People Coordinator to join our Canadian People Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is looking to build broad exposure across all areas of the employee lifecycle. As a member of the People Team, you will play a key role in supporting employees and managers across Canada while helping deliver a seamless employee experience from recruitment through onboarding, development, and offboarding.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-oriented, detail-focused, and enjoys building relationships while balancing multiple priorities.

Here’s what you’d be doing:

Recruitment & Talent Coordination

  • Coordinate interviews, candidate communications, and recruitment logistics across multiple business units.
  • Conduct reference checks and support offer preparation and pre-employment activities.
  • Partner with hiring managers, recruiters, and candidates to deliver a positive candidate experience.
  • Support recruitment reporting and talent acquisition administration activities.

Employee Lifecycle Administration

  • Support employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, employment changes, leaves of absence, returns from leave, and offboarding.
  • Prepare employee documentation and coordinate communications related to employee changes.
  • Maintain employee files and records while ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.

Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including scheduling, system access requests, orientation planning, training assignments, and new hire communications.
  • Partner with managers and internal stakeholders to ensure employees have a successful start.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and People Team projects throughout the year.

HRIS & Employee Records Management

  • Maintain employee information and organizational data within Workday and other HR systems.
  • Process employee transactions, organizational changes, and reporting updates.
  • Support ongoing data integrity initiatives and ensure employee records remain accurate and up to date.

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Support employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Assist with leave administration processes, documentation tracking, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Liaise with benefit providers and internal stakeholders as required.

Reporting & People Operations Support

  • Maintain People Team trackers, reports, and dashboards.
  • Support reporting requests related to headcount, organizational structure, training compliance, workforce metrics, and business needs.
  • Assist with data gathering and reporting for internal initiatives and business requests.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Support HR compliance activities, policy administration, audits, and documentation management.
  • Ensure People Team processes are followed consistently and in accordance with company policies and employment legislation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and employee experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Payroll, Finance, IT, Talent Acquisition, managers, and external vendors to support employee lifecycle activities and ensure a high level of service delivery.

What you’ll need to get here:

  • 2–3 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Talent Acquisition Coordination, or a related role.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding programs.
  • Experience administering employee benefits and leaves of absence.
  • Experience maintaining employee data and reporting within Workday.
  • Exposure to HR reporting, workforce analytics, or HR compliance activities.
  • Experience working in a professional services, agency, consulting, or fast-paced corporate environment.
