Johnson Regional Medical Center is seeking a full-time Cook in Clarksville, Johnson County. Working a 10am–6:30pm shift with varying days, you'll prepare and cook nutritious meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors under the direction of our Food and Nutrition Services Manager.
About the Role
Our Food and Nutrition Services team is central to patient care and recovery. In this full-time cook position, you'll prepare properly seasoned, high-quality meals that meet both our clinical standards and our patients' dietary needs. This is hands-on kitchen work that directly supports our hospital's mission.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook meals using proper techniques, following standardized recipes and dietary specifications
- Portion and season food to meet quality standards and patient-specific requirements
- Operate cooking equipment and maintain food safety and sanitation protocols
- Coordinate with the Food and Nutrition Services team to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Monitor ingredient inventory, organize storage, and maintain clean, organized work stations
- Adapt meals according to clinical dietary orders and special nutritional needs
- Ensure consistency, quality, and proper food handling throughout preparation and service
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as a cook or in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation requirements
- Ability to stand and work in a busy kitchen environment for extended periods
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and work collaboratively with team members
- Food Handler's Certification or willingness to obtain one
