ControlsJobs is hiring a Controls Salesperson (Mid or Senior) to drive growth and build lasting client partnerships in the Detroit, Wayne County area. This full-time position is based on-site and offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career in the building automation and HVAC controls industry across East Michigan.
About the Role
We're partnering with an established building automation and HVAC controls integrator to find a seasoned sales professional ready to generate new business and strengthen existing accounts throughout the region. You'll take a consultative approach to understanding client needs and positioning control solutions that directly address their operational challenges.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with mechanical contractors, system designers, and building consultants across East Michigan
- Identify and pursue project opportunities that leverage building automation and HVAC control systems
- Present technical solutions and navigate complex sales cycles with decision-makers in the mechanical and HVAC sectors
- Expand the company's footprint by securing both new construction and retrofit project wins
- Support the service and installation teams by ensuring specifications align with client requirements and operational capabilities
- Manage pipeline development and maintain detailed records of prospect and client interactions
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record selling in building automation, HVAC controls, or related mechanical systems
- Solid understanding of control system architecture, components, and integration practices
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated success building and nurturing professional relationships with contractors and consultants
- Self-motivated approach to prospecting and closing opportunities in a competitive market
- Intermediate to advanced sales experience in a B2B technical or industrial environment
- Knowledge of the Detroit, Wayne County, or broader East Michigan market is a plus
