Construction Inspector NICET 1

Laland Baptiste is hiring a full-time Construction Inspector with NICET Level 1 certification in New York, New York. We're a construction management and consulting firm looking for a detail-oriented professional to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across our active project portfolio.

About the Role

As a Construction Inspector at Laland Baptiste, you'll play a critical role in maintaining project standards and protecting client interests throughout the construction lifecycle. This is an on-site position where you'll work directly with crews, subcontractors, and project managers to document progress, identify issues early, and keep work aligned with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.

What You'll Do

• Conduct daily and weekly inspections of construction work, materials, and installations for compliance with design documents and building codes
• Document inspection findings through photographs, notes, and written reports provided to project leadership and clients
• Verify that workers follow safety protocols and that worksite conditions meet regulatory standards
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications to ensure quality and code compliance before installation
• Communicate inspection results and corrective actions to project managers, general contractors, and subcontractors
• Maintain daily logs and prepare inspection reports that support project records and client communication
• Assist in resolving field discrepancies and coordinating between design and construction teams

What We're Looking For

• NICET Level 1 certification (or ability to obtain) in construction inspection or related discipline
• Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and inspection standards
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
• Attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly and accurately
• Ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Problem-solving mindset and commitment to quality workmanship
